The Graphic Design Intern for the University Journal plays a crucial role in the design and layout process of our 32-page publication, with three editions per semester. Reporting to the Operations Manager and collaborating closely with the student editor-in-chief and another student graphic designer, this position involves a diverse range of responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Work with the Operations Manager, student editor-in-chief, and another student graphic designer to develop design and theme for stories and publication layout
  • Must be open to criticism of design ideas and willing to take direction from SUU News staff to collaborate on the theme and vision of that edition
  • Work quickly to incorporate ideas and make changes as requested to meet deadlines
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Google Workspaces (Docs, Gmail, etc.)
